Blake Hironaka

Portrait of Blake Hironaka

Blake Hironaka is an Electrical Engineering major at UH Manoa on the Electrophysics track. In his third year, he has enjoyed learning about circuits and being able to apply that knowledge in the projects he is involved in. That interest aligns with his future aspiration of working with physical circuits after graduation. Outside of engineering, Blake enjoys creating music through the trumpet and playing in the UH Wind Ensemble.

Q: What inspired you to join HKN?

I wanted to push myself to be more involved with the engineering department and help my fellow students. HKN was a way to do both of those things while also being surrounded by people with that same goal.

Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on island?

My home town is Kalaheo on the island of Kauai and my favorite place on the island would be the Pig and the Lady restaurant. That restaurant has some of the best food I have eaten and I wait for the day where I am able to afford to go back.

Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why?

Stardew Valley would definitely be one of my top choices to live in. Having a cozy little garden with no real danger would be really relaxing.

Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list?

Being in the top ranks of a competitive video game is something I would want to accomplish very soon. You’re reaction time only decreases with age so I better accomplish this before it is too late.
