Arden Patoc is a junior majoring in Electrical Engineering in the Electro-Physics track at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He is a second-degree bachelor’s student, having previously studied at Seattle University, and is currently exploring his interests in the field of engineering.

Arden’s academic interests include radio frequency systems, radar, semiconductor physics, electromagnetics, and renewable energy. After completing his undergraduate studies, he plans to pursue the Bachelor’s and Master’s (BAM) program at UH Mānoa. His career goals include continuing his professional journey in Oʻahu to support the community he grew up in and contributing to the development of radar systems for environmental and physiological applications.

Outside of academics, Arden enjoys cooking, reading, playing the guitar, and playing tennis.

Q: What inspired you to join HKN?

I joined HKN to connect with other engineering students and to help strengthen the learning community at UH Mānoa. During my studies, I found that I am most dedicated and motivated when I know that I am part of a supportive team, one where I can reach out for help when needed and offer help to others in return.

Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on island?

My hometown is Mililani and my favorite place on the island is ʻĀweoweo Beach Park.

Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why?

I would want to live in the fictional world of One Piece because I love legends, adventure, and freedom!

Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list?

I want to learn how to cut hair someday; looking for volunteers :)
